A basic ‘topics frame’ is provided, with ‘building blocks’ that include an introduction to the topic and recommended online and text resources. These resources should be supplemented with local resources, self assessment tools and information for teachers. In combination with suggested assessment tools and learning objectives, this frame can be extended to comprise all topics that are deemed relevant for a particular dental school, particular circumstances and for a particular group of students. Examples, links and ‘patients scenarios’ can be adapted likewise. As such, the same course format can be used for different levels through use of examples and information that vary in complexity.
The course should be used as part of blended learning, i.e. in combination with other digital and classical or non-digital learning methods.
